vaginal pH test - included in every packages

Health of vagina and the pH level

PH level of vaginal areas means the rate of reaction alkalinity or acidity. Vaginal pH has lead in keeping the health of vagina, because the relatively low (acidity) pH level inhibits the germs from evolution.

Important that the normal level is between 3.8-4.2! PH level over 4.5 is mostly a sign of vaginal infection which needs an overwiev of gynecologist

Since the „flowing” sensed by women is always subjective, it is referenced to check the pH level of the vagina regularly.

Balance of the internal areas kept by cells in the side of vagina and lactic acid produced by natural beneficial germs (lactobacillus and lactic-acid germs)

Bacterialis vaginosis (BV) is the most frequent vaginal infection. The pH level in this case for example could reach 5.0-7.0 also. PH of vaginal secretion can be checked quickly and correctly by Biointimo test-strip.

PH can be pushed to alkalinity by other ways also:

  • by ejaculation,
  • by blood
  • by common vaginal duche
  • by menstruation
  • by stress,
  • by weak immunity,
  • by effect of antibiotics

Regarding the relatively higher 7,0 PH of the cervix, the testing should take place from the front side of the vagina.  Ph level of vaginal secretion has a great prognosis, that is why infection is presumptive from the increasing of pH level.

How to use PH vaginal PH test?

  • Use the attached cotton stick for gathering some vaginal secretion sample.
  • Grease the sample onto the yellow squred tip of the test indicator stripe.
After 30 second, compare the colour of the test indicator stripe to the PH-colour scale, and read the outcome.

Attention!:

It is recommended to avoid sexual activity, taking medications, and applying chemicals at the vaginal areas 48 hours before taking the test. One stripe shall be used only once.

A PH-test is NOT suitable for women

    1. coping with diabetes,
    2. who are pregnant
    3. who take any mediaction with hormones,
    4. who are in their menstruation period

How the pH level changes over the years

Vaginal pH level changes with age. In childhood the pH level is high, but after starting menstruation it gets more acidity. Average pH level in case of conceivable women is between 3.8-4.2. According to the changes of hormones during menstruation it can be higher and during pregnancy lower to protect the embryo. PH level increases to 6.5 during climax, and this can lead to the weakening of natural protection.
